Applications Engineer - Embedded Software   (Melbourne, FL) Fingerprint Verification solutions are complex systems that acquire and process biometric data from a person’s finger to extract unique features and characteristics.  The systems comprise analog sensing and signal processing electronics implemented in full custom ASIC’s together with firmware and software algorithms for biometric feature extraction.  Our Company is continually improving its leading edge biometric performance and product cost/performance through innovative designs.  Working with silicon, package, software and algorithm development teams, the systems engineer will model the entire end to end system with the objective of further understanding, characterizing and improving overall system performance. Pay/Benefits: Full time employee, US citizen or Green card holder, FTE benefits, Salary Market Rate DOE, Relocation and/or Bonus possible.   Requirements: The applications engineer will be responsible for providing engineering and technical support for integration of biometric fingerprint sensors into mobile phones and PDA products with an emphasis on the software aspects of the integration.  This individual is expected to: ·                           Support Device Drivers in Windows CE, Symbian, Linux and other embedded operating system environments. ·                           Provide primary communication between the customer and the technical development team. ·                           Identify, debug and resolve driver issues on customer platforms. ·                           Work closely with the engineering and application solutions teams to identify/understand issues and drive customer problems to resolution. ·                           Interface and provide primary communication between the customer and the technical development team. ·                           Develop necessary system designs, development, integration and test plans. ·                           Review product literature for completeness and technical accuracy. ·                           Publish application notes, user manuals and technical articles. ·                           Travel when needed; domestic and international.     Required Education/Experience: ·                           Minimum education requirement is BSEE/CS.  MSEE/CS is a plus. ·                           Three to five years of software development experience (C/C++_ in one or more of the following is required:  Windows CE, Symbian or Linux device drivers. ·                           Full understanding and extensive experience with embedded operating systems, kernel mode driver architectures, and Windows operating system is required ·                           Extensive knowledge of one of the following embedded hardware architectures (TI OMAP, Intel XScale, Freescale iMX, ARM, etc.) and fundamentals is required. ·                           Experience in Linux device driver development is highly desired ·                           Direct experience engaging with customers in pursuit of new product design-ins and technical support is desired ·                           Experience in Java development for mobile platforms is desired ·                           Knowledge of embedded platforms security standards is desired     Job Keywords: Florida, Engineering, Jobs, Biometrics, silicon, software, C, ASIC, Fingerprint, Verification, Matlab, Verilog, HDL, MSEE, Engineer     www.MarcCrowl.com six figure plus IT Jobs, software, design, engineers,    ::    www.MarcCrowl.net IT, Software Job.
