Belgium Accountant The Belgium Accountant is expected to accurately maintain the Belgian General Ledger to US GAAP. A key responsibility is in the preparation of the Trial Balance to a level suitable for consolidation into the Group Management and Statutory accounts on a monthly basis. There will also be responsibility for liaising with the External Auditors and Tax advisors to ensure timely preparation of statutory accounts and Tax returns. This position is based in our office in the Netherlands and will report to our Dutch Finance Manager Requirements The ideal candidate will be outgoing with a hands on and flexible attitude, happy to work as part of a small team. They must be used to working to tight deadlines, preferably with experience of Monthly and/or Quarterly reporting within a multinational company. The Belgian Accountant must show a willingness and ability to continually review processes and systems in our continuing drive to improve efficiency .The candidate should have the confidence to deal with management at board level .Experience of the Exact Accounting Package an advantage but not essential, Good Excel skills are required. Main Activities - Month End GL journals - Accounts Payable - Variance analysis - Bank Reconciliations - Good understanding of Foreign Currency revaluations - Electronic Banking - Maintenance of Fixed Asset Register - Accruals and Prepayments - Intercompany Accounting - Cash Flow Reporting - Assisting with the implementation of Budgetary Controls and Reporting - Other Balance Sheet Reconciliations - Raising and posting Journals - Ad Hoc Reporting - Budgeting
