Engineer/Assistant Facilities Manager

Objective To assist the Facilities Manager in maintaining and managing the properties (land, building structures and associated contents) assigned to CLICO [Trinidad] Limited along with their basic utilities (i.e., energy, water and sewerage) in such a way as to provide to the occupants and public a safe working environment with reliable utilities that conform to the IBC and/or regulations of Trinidad & Tobago. To act on behalf of the Facilities Manager in his absence Job Functions · Assists with the development of land and property acquisitions of CLICO [Trinidad] Limited as needed to continually add value to these and existing properties, and facilitate their practical and functional purpose while fulfilling all relevant legal obligations · Undertakes efforts to minimize and compensate for the effects of property depreciation · Identifies problems and their root causes based upon a clear working knowledge of the environment, equipment, operations and work processes involved · Assists with the development of project scope of works, tenders and proposals for soliciting contractor resources · Assists with the assessment and analysis of work proposals with a view to achieving best value for money · Assists with the assessment and justification of budgets project costs and investment returns where necessary · Identifies required maintenance tasks and discriminates between those necessary for routine and those to be executed as required · Responsible for Safety & Health and risk assessment in compliance with TTOSH Act or as required · Produces preventive maintenance schedule, monitors and assesses work in progress and on completion · Oversees and resolves technical problems with equipment (A/C, pumps, motors, tools, measuring instruments etc), electrical and mechanical processes (water supply systems, electrical HL< supplies and distribution, sewerage, A/C systems, building structures etc.) · Handles schedule and coordination conflicts within projects as needed to meet deadlines, expedite work, meet quality demands and react appropriately to changes in requirements · Directly supervises the work activities of the Maintenance Technicians Competencies - Knowledge of standard engineering theories - Knowledge of the glossary of terms used in the construction and engineering industry for efficient and effective communication with suppliers and contractors - Knowledge of best practices for preventive and corrective maintenance of grounds, buildings, equipment and utilities (e.g., water pumps, sewerage, electrical installations etc) - Knowledge of project management - Knowledge of certain basic accounting practices Education and Experience - Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering or related qualification in similar fields. - At least three (3) years’ experience at a supervisory level in Real Estate, Industry or relevant business More information on this Job
