Please apply online at www.spiritstaffing.com  or if you require further information please contact Melissa at 403-244-3012.  The Resource Development Staff is responsible for the “packaging” and marketing to local and international granting agencies (government, foundations) and corporations interested in addressing our specific needs. The role requires at least a general understanding of local and international development/indigenous issues and an ability to articulate the Companys story. This role also supports the expansion of th company professional profile by identifying and applying for select awards programs.   Responsibilities   ·         Participate in the development of Strategic Plan and Operations Plans ·           Research and networking to identify new opportunities among granting organizations or individuals ·           Manage engagement plan for high-potential opportunities, moving these from interest, to informed to engaged, including liaising with the International Services and Program Development departments to “package” components of the Companys Operations Plan ·           Research, identify and manage the engagement plan for awards programs. ·           Writing and managing of grant, funding and award applications. ·           Create, design, publish and send publications such as Annual report, Newsletters, promotional information, program literature.   ·           Manage corporate presentations and identify and follow-up on other opportunities for public speaking in the community. ·           Manage volunteers that will assist programs in obtaining optimum performance, projects, or fundraisers i.e. casino, golf tournament.   The Person   Education ·           Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline Experience ·           Minimum of 5 years related fundraising, communications and/or marketing experience in a staff or volunteer capacity. ·           Understanding of non-profit sector requirements for accountability. ·           Understanding of international development industry an asset. ·           Connection to corporate and community funders an asset. ·           Previous volunteer experience with the Company is an asset.   Skills and Attributes ·           Solid communications skills required (written and oral) ·           Aboriginal Sensitivity: able to work effectively and with respect in the Aboriginal community ·           Analytical capability: proven ability to assess opportunities and make recommendations ·           Good judgement: proven ability to be a self-starter and work independently ·           Time management: this role is multi-dimensional and requires someone with the ability to balance and negotiate priorities ·           Values must match with the Company: passion for empowerment and desire to make a difference; high integrity; ethics; value diversity ·           Entrepreneurial: comfortable with the risk of participating in a young, innovative organization ·           Credible: able to quickly establish credibility with potential donors and partners ·           Proactive and Progressive: an innovator with an assertive, friendly, approachable ‘can do’ attitude.
