Position Title: Food Service Manager Essential Functions:  Food Service Managers are responsible for the successful operation of a quick service food operation located within a Hess Express retail location.  Hess operates a variety of brands including Godfathers Pizza and Blimpie Subs.  Some of the core responsibilities of Food Service Managers include just some the following:  *Maintain Hess operational standards and follow all company policies/procedures *Conduct daily, weekly and monthly inventories in assigned categories *Recruit, select and train all food service team members *Maintain world class service levels as a day to day standard *Control all portion levels to ensure consistentcy and product standardization *Meet or exceed all sales and profit goals  Principal Responsibilities: 1. Ensure that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly, welcoming environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of The Hess Way. 2. Analyze and measure business trends; develop and implement plans to maximize sales and meet or exceed goals and objectives. 3. Control food waste, expenses, and payroll. 4. Ensure appropriate merchandise stock levels, and product assortment in all food categories. 5. Review store trends.  Recommend and initiate changes for maximizing goals and objectives. 6. Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures through regular store management and staff meetings, store walk-throughs and audits, etc. 7. Continually evaluate and react to performance issues and actively recruit high caliber associates, supervisors and management personnel. 8. Train and develop store management in all aspects of the business; direct and monitor training and development for all store personnel. 9. Any other responsibilities as assigned. Essential Physical Requirements: 1. Ability to process information and merchandise through computer system and POS register system. 2. Ability to communicate with associates and customers. 3. Ability to read, count and write to accurately complete all documentation. 4. Ability to freely access all areas of the store including selling floor, stock area, and register area. 5. Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to run the facility. 6. Ability to climb ladders. 7. Ability to move or handle merchandise throughout the store generally weighing 0-50 pounds. 8. Ability to work a varied schedule including nights, weekends and/or holidays.
