Principal Analog Design Engineer Sunnyvale, California Will lead analog and mixed-signal design and signal integrity analysis for Ubicoms next generation of network processors. Responsible for driving the detailed specification, methodology, and design of internally developed, or integration of third party, analog/mixed-signal IP. The candidate will also have responsibilities beyond traditional analog design. The candidate is expected to drive on- and off-chip signal integrity, I/O specification, chip-level power design, process selection, physical design, and other technology decisions. Candidate will develop products in CMOS 0.13um and 90nm technologies. If the successful candidate has excellent management skills, the candidate may take on the role of a very hands-on manager of a small analog team. Responsibilities Work closely with digital design team to drive requirements and specify functionality and features of analog blocks. Select, integrate, and characterize analog/mixed-signal IP blocks from third party vendors. Design analog blocks to meet specifications. On and off-chip signal integrity analysis. Off-chip signal integrity includes package and I/O driver simulations. On-chip signal integrity includes IR drop, crosstalk, and electromigration analysis. Work closely with the digital team to define chip-level power and ESD scheme. Play a key role in physical design, process, and library selection. Requirements Bachelors of science degree or higher in electrical engineering with 7+ years of analog design experience. Detailed knowledge of PLLs, crystal oscillator circuits, ADC/DACs, 10/100/1000 Ethernet, and other networking PHYs such as PCI Express and USB 2.0. Experience with digital I/O and package simulation. Experience integrating and characterizing third party analog IP. 2 years experience leading a small team of analog/mixed signal engineers. Understanding of ESD protection networks. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. A proven design track record with deep-submicron CMOS processes. Desired Experience Masters of science in electrical engineering. Experience with radios. Deep understading of ESD design and theory. 3 years experience as a hands-on manager leading a small, high-powered team of analog/mixed-signal engineers.
