Under the direction of the Director, Liaison Officer, the Liaison Officer’s goal is to deepen the linkage between CADTH and key stakeholders in the provinces/territories. In partnership with the Ministry of Health and Wellness in Alberta , the primary focus of this position is to develop a local presence for CADTH by increasing the awareness of CADTH’s programs and services and by encouraging the use of evidence-based information in decisions about health technologies (i.e. drugs, devices, diagnostic agents, equipment, and medical and surgical procedures). Responsibilities: · Creating and supporting a network of key stakeholders related to drugs and health technologies within Alberta to facilitate the two-way flow of information between CADTH and Alberta stakeholders. · Enhancing the interaction and developing strategic linkages between the research community and decision makers to support the development of HTA capacity and the culture of evidence-based decision-making. · Disseminating information from CADTH’s HTA, CDR and COMPUS programs to key audiences and providing the tools and venues to increase the use of this information · Facilitate requests for the CADTH Health Technology Inquiry Service by gathering and managing flow of requests, assisting with the refinement of the question, and ensuring a response is provided. · Act as a knowledge broker to research and identify information including: innovative/best practice sites in health care system; feedback on CADTHs products and services, opinion leaders to assist with knowledge transfer; potential contract researchers, etc. · Work with CADTH staff and jurisdictions to develop specialized information/products/ workshops to aid the interpretation of CADTH products. · Work with other CADTH Liaison Officers to develop a national network to coordinate liaison activities and identify potential areas of cooperation. Qualifications: A degree in Health Administration, Health Sciences or a health profession (current licensure required); 6-8 years of health system experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience relevant to knowledge transfer or communications in health sciences. · Think strategically and innovatively to identify, initiate and establish working relationships that do not currently exist · Recognize potential links between individuals, organizations and others who could produce or use CADTH products · Excellent listening and judgment skills to appropriately deal to each type of individual · Ability to work independently · Demonstrate excellent presentation and interpersonal communication skills with a variety of professional groups More information on this Job
