If you answered yes to all of the above, this Consumer Electronics (CE) Certification Tester internship at DivX could be just the position you’ve been looking for. The CE Certification Tester intern will perform compliance tests on consumer electronic devices to ensure they meet the standards of our DivX Certification Program. Reporting to the Certification Center Manager, the CE Certification Tester intern will work closely with the CE Certification and the Field Application Engineering teams to resolve issues related to products from our hardware and software partners. THE EVERYDAY VIEW Typical day-to-day activities of this position will include the following: Perform certification activities and certification testing Ensure certification standards are met for all devices Document and report certification test results and/or certification process problems Report failure conditions regarding hardware and embedded software problems Compare the quality and reliability of video playback on multiple CE devices Participate in CE certification support and inventory activities as required REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE The ideal candidate for this position will be an enthusiastic technology expert with a passion for and some hands-on, professional experience working with consumer electronics and/or software products. Additional specific requirements include: A blend of a technology background with a customer focus and a passion to learn Attention to detail with a keen eye for video quality Ability to commit to 30 hours of work a week Proficiency with the MS Office suite of products with basic to intermediate knowledge of Excel Excellent written and verbal communication skills A collaborative, team-oriented attitude Familiarity with MPEG or H.26x video encoding technology is a plus Previous experience working with digital video in a quality control capacity (editing, testing, QA, etc.) is a plus A high school diploma is required An individual with a technical vocation or associate’s degree or an individual who is currently enrolled in a relevant college program is preferred ABOUT DIVX DivX is a community rich with culture and informed by creativity, intelligence and passion for all that is possible with digital media.
