JOB PURPOSE Environment Artist with experience in both Next gen and past gen modeling and texturing      PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES   ·         Create models of 3D environments, map predefined textures and create new textures ·         Designing, modeling, texturing, and lighting 3D architectural, gameplay-rich environments ·         Collaborating with Lead Artist and Senior Level Designer/Lead Designer to design visually stunning, atmospheric environments, and implement innovative gameplay mechanics ·         Adhere to the defined technical limitations and constraints when building your level ·         Responsible for the creation of props, collision, textures, shaders, lighting, environment effects, backgrounds, memory management, and any other technical and aesthetic considerations for the project’s final environmental art. ·         Mentoring junior-mid level environment artists   QUALIFICATIONS   ·         Minimum of 5 years professional industry experience ·         At least one shipped title as an Environment Artist ·         Strong architecture or traditional art background (B.A. or equivalent degree preferred) ·         Proficiency in 3D Studio Max (or Maya with Max knowledge) ·         Proficiency in Photoshop ·         Experience in designing and building next-gen 3D game levels ·         Understand the aesthetics of environment, function vs. form relationships, was well as what makes a game level fun and intriguing ·         Net Gen Art skills involving High Res modeling and transferring Normal Maps ·         Strong grasp of scale, space, proportion and lighting ·         Skill in Mudbox or ZBrush a plus ·         Traditional Art skills ·         Demonstrable experience designing, modeling, strong texturing skills and lighting levels/environments ·         Strong knowledge of game environment design and construction ·         Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
