Located in Valley View, Ohio, Harley-Davidson Dealer Systems (HDDS) provides dealer management software, computer hardware, training and support for the Harley-Davidson dealer network.  Join our team as a Business Analyst.


Job Summary

This position is responsible for leading the requirements gathering and functional design phases in software development projects for one of the products developed by Harley-Davidson. Will work with the Product Team to help institute and follow user experience design best practices. May develop work plans and estimates for the business aspects of software development projects, manage the requirements gathering process, create functional designs and documentation, present concepts to key stakeholders and communicate status to ensure planned delivery. Through this work, the position is responsible for gaining business process expertise in impacted areas.

Job Responsibilities

  • Leads requirements gathering for software development projects.

  • Develops requirements documentation and functional design specifications that are business function oriented and easily explains in dealer terms what will be accomplished and how the system will behave to accomplish the desired results.

  • Develops or contributes to the development of work flows, data analyses, and business cases as required

  • Prepares implementation and conversion plans and procedures, and works with other departments to ensure smooth transition of new or changed functionality

  • Maintains project documentation with any changes occurring throughout the project’s life cycle.

  • Assists in the Beta and post-implementation support of released software components

  • Works with development and quality assurance team members to resolve any issues.

Experience Requirements

Required



  • Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of related experience.

  • Demonstrated communication skills to effectively provide and receive information relative to assigned projects.

  • Requires strong organizational skills and excellent problem-solving skills to handle changing priorities, tight schedules, and correction of critical systems outside normal working hours.

  • Demonstrated attention to detail and quality measures.


Preferred



  • Demonstrated experience with project methodology.

  • Experience with testing and quality assurance practices are a plus.

  • Experience writing queries against a SQL database is a plus.

  • Functional knowledge of retail, motorcycle, or automotive industries is a plus.

  • Accounting experience is a plus
