Communications and Public Relations Assistant Georgia Tech Athletic Association Job at NRPA


Atlanta, Georgia, The Georgia Tech Athletic Association, which is located in the heart of midtown Atlanta, is seeking a communications and public relations assistant. This position will assist the communications and public relations staff in the coverage and promotion of Georgia Tech’s 17 NCAA Division I athletic programs.

DUTIES
The successful candidate would:
• Be the primary communications and public relations contact for Georgia Tech volleyball and softball
• Be required to work home and away events for those sports, as well as other home events as needed
• Be required to work regular office hours, as well as night, weekend, and holiday work schedules
• Assist in special projects / events as they develop
• Assist in the implementation of Georgia Tech athletics’ content strategy

REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in athletics communications/public relations at the collegiate or professional level
• Must possess strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills, problem-solving and decision-making skills that produce results in a fast-paced team environment
• Must possess good writing and editing ability (including knowledge of AP style)
• Proficient in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop and Stat Crew software systems
• Knowledge of and professional experience in maintaining all major social platforms (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook) is required
• Experience with video and video editing software a plus.

COMPENSATION
• $3,000 / month
• Parking
• Position offers limited benefits, which include medical and dental coverage

START DATE
• Feb. 1, 2021
