This role involves working directly with the Chief Technology Officer’s team and will provide visibility to the highest levels of Ericsson. The individual will participate in direct strategic dialogues with existing and potential partners providing experience and knowledge of domain trends and business models consistent with Ericsson’s strategy and vision. Seeking an upbeat individual who can secure an understanding of competition, market situation, and intelligence trends and will build on in-depth knowledge and understanding of the Networks business in North America.



You will




  • Have extensive experience of working with cross functional teams and identifying portfolio gaps and key growth areas for Ericsson are a key!

  • Be an independent navigator who can work with the competitor landscape independently and create a build, buy or partner strategy.

  • Have demonstrated ability in Information Communication Technology spanning across Product Development, Business Development, Sales, M&A experience (not just integration but driving the complete process from deal identification, diligence, valuation, negotiation to closure).

  • Understand the networks technology roadmap from an industry wide perspective.

  • Broad portfolio knowledge and technology experience in areas like Cybersecurity, Cloud and Networking Technologies.

  • Background in crafting products and owning the lifecycle. Product development experience in the areas of Telecom, Storage, Data networking (routing and switching) is preferred.

  • Have understanding of Ericsson Network Products Portfolio is highly appreciated this includes Ericsson 4G and 5G RAN Product Portfolio and roadmap, Network Services Ecosystem for IOT, ML, AI, and Service Automation.

  • Be experienced in crafting strategic partnerships. This includes finding companies that are privately held or publicly traded and prioritizing them based on market need and potential.

  • Background in proven Finance with understanding of key indicators in identifying a profitable investment and joint venture including defining go to market plans.

  • Experience in multiple geographies including emerging markets. Hands on experience in operationalizing a new service portfolio that included building delivery capability globally, securing anchor customers, building the portfolio in a phased manner, evaluating M&A transactions from a business owner perspective. Helpful experience working in areas of CSP (communications service provider), start-up and large organization.

  • Solid understanding in initiating NDA’s and different contractual instruments and engaging with companies with the intent of evaluation.

  • Ability to lead and execute proof of concept studies sought at mitigating customer pain points, differentiation strategy from competitors and proposing partnership models.

  • A solid understanding of drafting business cases, detailing risks and mitigation strategies, calculating payback periods, NPV, IRR analysis to drive the creation of a joint business plan if required.

  • Experience with performing valuation and investment analysis using methods like Discounted Cash Flows, multiples and identify the discounted payback period based on the investment structures.

  • Ability to provide mentorship on deal terms like right of first refusal, dilution rights and any specific covenants is a must.

  • Ability to drive workstreams or help structure and frame problem statements with the help of strategy team and market intelligence in providing mentorship and insights on partnerships and industry insights.

  • Should be able to maintain and build relationships with large partners/suppliers while identifying potential joint solution areas and ensure that Ericsson maintains a good dialog even in cases where no immediate alliances exist by supporting dispute resolution by working with senior partners.

  • A plus would be excellent connections and relationships with investment bankers, VC firms and consulting firms like (Mckinsey, Booz, Bain, BCG). Experience in leading management consultants and working on large sophisticated transformation projects.



To be successful in the role you must have




  • Computer Science, Engineering or Business degree (undergrad/MS).

  • MBA that brings strong strategy, corporate finance, investments, M&A skill set.

  • Applied understanding of Networks Technology

  • Familiarity with Pitchbook and competitive intelligence tools

  • Experience in delivering projects within budget

  • Previous involvement with CSP, Startup(s) and Corporate Ventures is valued

  • Experience defining New Business Models

  • Active presence in Social Media

  • Owner-Mindset Mentality

  • Out of the box problem solver skills

  • Excellent presentation, public speaking and communication skills

  • IPR evaluation and OpenSource understanding

  • Ability to enable teamwork and collaboration

  • Ability to travel
