• Under general direction, assists in the development of total system design solutions that balance cost, schedule, performance and risk. Involved in the development and tracking of technical information needed for decision making as well as verification that technical solutions satisfy customer requirements.


• Assists in the development of systems that can be produced economically and supported throughout the life cycle.


• Assists in the development and monitoring of internal and external interface compatibility of the system and subsystems using an open systems approach.


• Helps to establish baselines and configuration control.

  Ensures the end products meets the customer requirements:

  
  
  
  
  
  • Working with the various engineering disciplines (Electrical, Mechanical, firmware, software, physics) to ensure product meets customer requirements
  
  
  
  


• Supports rollout of new features to the field
  
  
  
  • Supports testing of new few features to ensure features meet field requirements
    
    
    
    • Ensures implementations are user friendly as possible
    
    
    
    
  
  
  • Provides support/documentation to operations on new features/software/procedures
  
  
  • Supports planning/monitoring of field tests of new features/technology
  
  
  
  


• Tracks reliability and field performance for commercial operations of the product
  
  
  
  • Conducts RCAs on field issues, SI
  
  
  • Monitoring of commercial runs to identify potential issues
  
  
  
  


• Reviews feedback from end users on improvements/upgrades


• Develop requirements and validation/verification criteria for new designs
  
  
  
  • Tracks progress of designs with regards to validation/verification metrics
  
  
  
  


• Learns and utilizes project management skills in the organization and execution of project assigment as necessary.


• Also helps to provide proper focus and structure for system and major sub- system level design Integrated Product Teams.


• Job tasks impact directly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations.


• Incorporates Reliability, HSE and Quality Analysis techniques in all job processes.


• Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations.


• Consequences of error are easily measured and can be confined.


• Skills are typically acquired through an undergraduate degree in Engineering, Computer Science or similar discipline and a minimum of 4 years experience in Engineering or Software which includes experience in Systems Integration, Technical Software, Electrical Downhole, Mechanical Downhole, Mechanical Surface, Chemistry, or Applied Engineering. Certification as a Licensed/Chartered Professional is preferred
