ESG Advisory Issuer Solutions IHS Markit Job at Womens Energy Network

Raleigh, North Carolina, IHS Markits ESG Advisory team is seeking an engaged and consultative senior-analyst level individual to join its dynamic team to execute our strategy for advising corporate issuers on their ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) investment stories, supporting growth of their ESG-focused shareholder bases as well as improving trust among stakeholders. IHS Markit has a history of advising corporate investor relations officers honed over a 13-year period through the acquisition of Ipreo in 2018, and acts as an incumbent advisory provider to over 1,000 of the worlds largest public companies listed on major stock exchanges. As these companies needs have expanded to require communicating not just a financial investment story (revenues and earnings), but also a non-financial story (material risks and opportunities found in environmental, social, or governance), our offering is evolving to meet these changing needs. We are looking for an experienced analyst to join a prominent market leader dedicated to helping businesses globally, seeking to advance our clients goals. The candidate will work closely with the local advisory teams to advise companies on their ESG disclosure strategy, as well as communications with major institutional investors using this ESG information about companies to make investment and voting decisions. The ideal candidate will navigate various sets of both quantitative and qualitative data provided by companies , including: ESG reporting frameworks such as SASB and GRI, carbon and environmental disclosures, third party ratings of a companys E/S/G operations, and corporate governance structures. Further, the candidate will be involved in expanding IHS Markits measurements of investors integration of ESG into decision-making processes, including portfolio ownership data, public filing and transparency disclosures, IHSM and third-party ESG portfolio analytics, and investor voting history. The candidate will collaborate with multiple product groups across the Issuer Solutions & Global Insights business and reports directly to the Head of ESG, Americas. This position is client-facing and requires heavy interaction with corporations, focused on board, investor relations and management level personas at both prospects and clients. What youll work on: Evaluating company ESG disclosures (corporate sustainability reports, government / regulatory filings, sustainability web content) for content and stakeholder impact Gap analyses of company ESG disclosures against peers, industry, and general market, as well as in comparison to existing ESG reporting frameworks Stakeholder materiality assessments to define the material items relevant to stakeholders, primarily shareholders but also including employees, communities, regulators, suppliers, customers, and governments Advisory on impactful changes to company ESG operations and communications to improve stakeholder understanding and trust Communications and messaging for shareholders as stakeholders Evaluation of a companys institutional shareholder base as to current usage of ESG by owners (primary screening, impact, thematic, ESG integration) Analysis of specific investors disclosures to determine level of ESG integration in decisions Identification of potential investors for public companies based on match between current company ESG profile and investor ESG profile Direct verbal and online communication with ESG decision-makers at major investment firms to identify inputs to the investment process as well as information needed for investment- and voting decision-making Design and input into analytics used to evaluate investor ESG activity for use in IHS Markit workflow CRM platforms, currently leveraged by over 2,000 corporate issuers globally Regular verbal, face to face and email communication with IHS Markit client personas, including corporate investor relations, corporate legal, corporate sustainability officer, and potentially C-suite and board of directors Participation and contribution to ESG-focused industry events Author on thought leadership based on IHS Markit unique ESG data and insights Work in collaboration with Account Management, Product Groups and Product Marketing in North America and Latin America, but also cross border with the wider EU team or APAC team to service global clients What we look for: A highly motivated and personable individual who is dynamic, articulate, well-rounded, critical thinker with the resourcefulness and qualitative skills that will allow them to execute effectively on all client tasks BA / BS from an accredited institution AND relevant work experience in a financial or capital markets industry-facing sector Experience in the ESG space, preferably with direct experience in the use of ESG for capital markets decision-making Extensive knowledge of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) required, with superior Excel skills a strong positive Experience with equity market data terminals (Factset, Bloomberg, S&P CapitalIQ, Eikon, etc.), and portfolio analysis data platforms a plus Comfortable working with clients of all different levels including their board, management and sustainability teams Knowledge of ESG investment strategies and company-provided ESG disclosures Familiarity with evaluation processes for common ESG-related topics (climate, diversity & inclusion, human capital management Comfortable building and maintaining new relationships with the institutional investor, ESG advisory, and company investor relations and sustainability community Strong understanding of the functioning of equity capital markets Verbal and written fluency in English required; additional language skills a plus Superior analytical reasoning, oral and written communication skills Networking skills that contribute to the candidates ability to build relationships through in-person, remote, and written communications An ability to oversee and absorb large amounts of information in a high-energy, fast-paced environment Detail oriented; able to multi-task; strong organizational skills Strong project management skills Knowledge of common statistical concepts SQL / knowledge of relational database structures a plus Prior experience with IHS Markit products a plus Inclusion and diversity are critical to the success of IHS Markit, and we actively encourage applications from people of all backgrounds.
