Embedded Software Engineer Jr-Mid IQ Inc Job at IAEI

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, IQ Inc. is looking for an energetic  Embedded Software Engineer . In this position you will work closely with the engineering team to write, modify, and debug embedded software for client products. You will also work on the development of unreleased products and improvements to current product portfolio.  Having exceptional communication and leadership skills are a must! Exercising your knowledge of embedded software engineering competencies with a strong attention to detail and follow through to bring work to completion
Regularly demonstrating your robust root cause analysis and problem solving skills
Optimizing and refactoring existing embedded software stacks to help improve product functionality and efficiency
Designing, performing, and documenting verification tests to validate product designs 
Develop embedded electronic systems based around 8, 16, and 32-bit MCUs
Develop and test embedded firmware using debuggers, emulators, and electrical test equipment
Work with a multi-disciplined engineering team to brainstorm and develop new products
The must haves! 

Junior+ experience in embedded development with new product introductions or continuous improvement
Strong desire to learn new skills and be self-motivated
Comfortable developing feedback control software for hardware systems that require accurate motor positioning, complex multi-segmented displays as well as other various UI components
Proficiency with various engineering tools and protocols:

Version Control Tools (CVS, SVN, GIT, etc.)
Electronic test equipment
Communication protocols (SPI, UART, etc.)
Debugging interfaces (ICE, JTAG, etc.)

BS or MS degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similarly related program

The great to haves!

Experience with bare-metal design, low-power design and electronic & signal processing fundamentals
Comfort with Python UI development
Capability using electrical hand tools such as an oscilloscope, multimeter and soldering iron
Familiar with developing software on open source hardware platforms like the Arduino, Raspberry Pi or similar
Proficiency with RF communication protocols such as Bluetooth Low Energy, Bluetooth Classic, WiFi 802.11, etc.
Experience with RTOS (Free RTOS, uC/OS, etc.)
You can demonstrate engineering design experience provided via a project portfolio (work or personal)
