We currently seek experienced candidates for the role of Controller for Bay Tek Entertainment, part of the “Village of Companies”.
This role will share responsibilities with our current financial controller and accounting department to maintain the books of several of companies that are a division of MCL Industries Inc, Bay Tek Entertainment, or other companies within of our Village of Companies. Our Village of Companies are currently on Quickbooks, Job Boss, and CloudSuite Industrial “Syteline” ERP system. We also use Phocas to consolidate our financial statements. The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced environment and consistently demonstrate initiative and drive.
A wide-range of responsibilities offers new challenges every day in this exciting role:
The controller is accountable for the accounting operations of the Village LLC’s, to include the production of monthly and yearly financial reports including company budget, and maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records.
Protects the company’s assets by establishing, monitoring and enforcing internal controls. Responsible for cash management and risk management.
Point of contact for bankers, outside accounting firms, 401k providers, and insurance companies.
Leader of day-to-day finance operations by performing and supervising the accounting staff members including functional responsibility over accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll functions of the company.
Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management.
Oversee the accounting operations of subsidiary “Village” companies including their control systems, transaction processing operations, policies and procedures.
Assist leadership in the annual budgeting and planning process, communication of financial results and keep leadership abreast of financial status.
Complies with federal, state and local legal requirements for payroll, corporate taxes, 401(K) by knowing existing and new legislation and filing timely reports and deposits.
Establishing/maintaining/improving the company’s accounting principles, practices and procedures.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, required
Minimum of 7 years of relevant controller experience in a manufacturing environment.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
Requirements (Competencies, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and unwavering commitment to the company’s MVV, a proactive, hands on strategic thinker who will own the responsibility for finance.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required, including pivot tables, v-lookups and more.
Experience with ERP systems, Quickbooks or Syteline a plus.
Experience in accounting for inventory a plus.
Keen analytic, organization and problem solving skills which allows for strategic data interpretation versus simple reporting
Understands lean manufacturing concepts and how to apply them in financial results/reporting.
Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, experience in effectively communicating key data.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.
